Bernice "Bea" McEvilly age 95 of Washington passed away at 1:20 a.m. Sunday at Washington Nursing Center. She was born August 19, 1912 in Wheeling, West Virginia the daughter of George and Mary Gongola. She had worked for Midland Steel and Richman Brothers. She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, and Legion of Mary. Surviving is one sister, Dolores Malysz of Michigan; one brother, Julius Blaze of Michigan; a dear friend, John Golarz of Hammond; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. McEvilly, whom she married November 7, 1953 and he died January 11, 1979. One sister and eight brothers are also deceased. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
