Troy Moyes, age 61, of Washington, passed away on January 28, 2016 at 6:05 p.m. at his home with his sweetheart by his side after losing a year- long battle with cancer. He was born March 5, 1954 in Washington to Carl and Margaret (Miller) Moyes. He was a 1972 Washington High School graduate and a graduate of Vincennes University in 1974. Troy was Vice-President of Production at Indiana Steel and Engineering. Troy loved the outdoors and was a past chairman and co-chairman for Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid duck and goose hunter as well. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Wilcox/Armstrong) Moyes, whom he married on December 29, 1991, his daughters; Trina (James) Burton, Angie (Adam) Auvil both of Indianapolis, a son, Brian (Daisy) Moyes of Washington as well as step-daughters; Jane (Rick) Seidel, Jennifer Armstrong, step-son, Joe (Teresa) Armstrong of Washington, a brother, Nelson (Patty) Moyes of Florida and a sister, Jennifer (Tom) Underwood of Washington, grandchildren; Dylan Seidel, Tyler Seidel, Madison Seidel, Hazel Rodimel, Kennedi Andrews, Reese Armstrong, Kassie Knox, Gage Knox, Hunter Moyes, Ava Auvil, and Emma Auvil. Preceding Troy in death are his parents, Carl and Margaret (Miller) Moyes. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. with Yvonne Evans officiating. Internment will follow at New Veale Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover medical expenses to: Troy Moyes Fund, in C/O First Federal Savings Bank of Washington, 439 South State Road 57, Washington, IN 47501.
