Katherine Jane Brandt

Jane Brandt, age 59, of Washington passed away Wednesday at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born November 3, 1948 she was the daughter of Tony and Katherine (Reitzel) Baumert. She was a 1966 graduate of Washington Catholic High School and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She loved knitting and needlepoint but most of all spending time with her two great nephews, Andrew and Aidan Baumert. She is survived by her sister, Jean Hayes of Chesterton and two nephews, Shawn Hayes of Indianapolis, and Tony Baumert and his wife Amber of Palm Coast, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Brandt, who passed away in January of 1981; her parents, and a brother, Steve Baumert. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
