Cynthia J. Matteson, 72, passed away at Washington Nursing Center on November 13, 2017 at 1:45 a.m. She was born in Washington on March 1, 1945 to William N. and June (Pride) Cassell.
She attended Washington High School and had worked as a hairstylist, and at Greenwood’s Wholesale and Back Porch Treasures. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies of the Moose. She loved gardening, flowers and floral design.
She is survived by three sons, Scott (Dana) Matteson of Washington, Billy (Malinda) Matteson of Washington and Todd (Leah) Matteson of Newburgh; two sisters, Wanda Wuepper of Montgomery and Connie Atkins of Evansville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Washington with Rev Samuel Padgett officiating. Following the service, there will be a visitation until 12:00 noon.
