"Marva Green and the Marguerite V. Johnson family: I was saddened to hear of the passing of Marguerite. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. Marguerite and I were best friends during our entire childhood. I have so many many fond memories of Sunday School, school and play activities, and the daily bus rides. In later years the Fourth of July get-togethers have always meant much to me because of Marguerite. On one of our last visits she said to me, "Mabel, I think of you every day," Eleanor and Albert send their condolences as well. Mabel E. Tolliver Peoria, Illinois"

"I am so deeply saddened by this loss. This was my mother's very best friend and she was just like a second mother to me. I thank God right now that the last time I was home, I took the time to go visit with Ms. Johnson and spend the afternoon with her. She gave me a newspaper clipping that announced her 96 birthday and encouraged everyone to send her a card and I still have the clipping on my dresser and look at it every day and wonder how she is doing. Another one of my mother's friends also passed this week and by reading the newspaper on line is how I found out this beautiful lady too had passed. I love this woman so much and my heart is just so heavy right now. The consolation that I am getting is that she is most definitely being met by a beautiful host of family and friends that have went before her and I know my mother is there at the head of the line waiting to once again see her very dear friend. To the family, I am so very sorry I cannot be there and I will continue to keep you all lifted in prayer during this most difficult time. I love you all. Paula V. Howard - Knox"
