George E. Abbott
February 7, 1937 - February 20, 2011

George E. Abbott, age 74, of Washington, passed away at 4:55 PM Sunday at his residence. He was born on February 7, 1937 in Washington to Bernard and Martha (Boyd) Abbott. He attended Glendale High School. He was an avid horesman rancher, and farmer, had worked at McCords, Green Construction and for Rogers Group and had also worked for Abbott Trucking Co. in Ashland Alabama. He was a member at the Moose Lodge, Eagles, 32Degree Mason and Hadi Shrine. George served proudly for four years in the US Air Force. He is survived by special life companion, Rene Goebel; the mother of his four children, Marilyn Kay (Dougherty) Abbott; one son and daughter-in-law, Collin. E. and Dawn Abbott of Washington, three daughters and son in-law, Lianne Wiscaver, Elaine and Dexter Stafford, Shelli Strange all of Washington four brothers, Caroldon 'Carp' Abbott of Lyons, Lyndon Abbott of Washington, Darrell Abbott of Lawrenceville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
