Ruth L. Grannan, age 86, of Washington, passed away at on Saturday at her residence. She was born in Champaign, Illinois to Roy and Pearl (Hinkle) Rosenberry. She attended Washington schools. She first worked at US Rubber and then Uniroyal where she retired, after retirement she went to work at NASCO. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter and son in-law, Betty Ruth and Greg Jeffers of Terre Haute; one son and daughter in-law, Carl J. and Gloria Grannan of Washington; eight grandchildren, Kim (Tony) Larkin, Kelly Buckley, Allyson Jackson, Carly Zurcher, James Grove III, Greg (Esti) Jeffers Jr., Damien Jeffers, and Tammy (Jamie) Adams; great grandchildren, Leanna Larkin, Margaret Larkin, Cody Buckley, Morgan Buckley, Annie Buckley, Claire Jackson, Harper Jackson Jack Zurcher, Ashley Jeffers, Austin Jeffers, Jaden Jeffers, Payton Kelley, Landon Kelley, and Aubree Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl H. Grannan on July 31, 1978, whom she had married on August 25, 1942. She also was preceded in death by a great grandson, Grant Zurcher; and five sisters, Fern Bakker, Micky Callahan, Violet Bracken, Vera Barber, and one in infancy, Margaret Rosenberry. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Saturday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM with a wake service at 4 pm at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be given to Washington Catholic Education Endowment P.O.
