James "Jim" E. Shrieves
July 4, 1951 - December 14, 2019

James “Jim” E. Shrieves, age 68, of Washington passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.


 


James was born on July 4, 1951 in Decatur, Illinois to James E. and Nellie (Smith) Shrieves. He graduated from Washington High School. James worked at U.S. Railway for many years before retiring from Crane.  He was a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam War Era. He is an avid reader. He was an Indy car race fan. He loved to spend time with his family.


 


He is survived by his wife Kristen Hendricks who he married on November 8, 2019; daughters Jamie L Shrieves and Hannah E. Shrieves both of Washington and Jennifer R. McGregor of Plainville; step-daughter Michelle (Daniel Spurlock) Hendricks of Noblesville and granddaughter Madellynn Spurlock. He is preceded in death by his parents.


 


Funeral services will be Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.


 


Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel.
