Cindy Horsting Brashear, 56, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born in Washington on August 25, 1960 to Jerry and Kay (Ragsdale) Horsting. She worked 32 years as a secretary for a glass company in Vincennes. She was an avid gardener, pet lover and enjoyed hunting mushrooms. Cindy loved spending time with family and friends and was always doing for others when she was needed. She is survived by her husband, Gary Brashear, whom she married April 30, 1983; sisters, Stephanie (Gerard) Shoultz of Whitfield, Michelle (Rick) Dinkens of Washington; sister-in-law, Alice Horsting of Shoals; brother-in-law, Jerry Brashear of Flat Rock Illinois; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; her cat Snowball and dog Fuff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Horsting; mother-in-law Marjorie Brashear and father-in-law, Raymond Brashear; grandfather, Adolph Horsting; grandparents, Ruth and Clarence Mandabach, Edith and Cecil Ragsdale; niece Amanda (Horsting) Lee. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Pastor Scott Mendenhall officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary. "Cindy was my best friend ever since elementary school, rode the same school bus and sat together every day, spent the night, went to ball games,and in 4-H together, she took every project that was available..LOL ...and did wonderful at it too!
