Mabel "Marceil" Hector, age 94, of Washington, passed away at 3:25 am on March 17, 2009 at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on December 14, 1914 in Scotland, Illinois to Fred Blaine Nichols and Nellie Hazel (Brown) Nichols. She was a graduate Wright Junior Collage in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of the Vesta Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Lombard, Illinois were she was a past Worthy Matron. She had also served as a Grand Lector for the Order of Eastern Star for the State of Illinois. She was a member of the Washington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of Central Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons in-law, Holly and James Payton of Washington, and Heather and Michael Thordsen of Lincoln, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jeremy Payton of Washington, Jessica Downey and Jeannie Owsley both of Lagrange, Indiana, and Mark Thordsen and Nicole Thordsen both of Lincoln, Arkansas; and three great grandchildren. Graveside eservices will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Sugarland Memory Gardens with Rev. James Payton officiating and military rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. There will be no calling. Memorial donations may be made to Central Christian Church 10 West Van Trees Street, Washington, Indiana 47501.
