Joetta M (Shepard) Batchelor, age 61, Danville, formerly of Washington, passed away at 6:20 PM on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville. She was born on March 19, 1955 in Washington to Harold and Cecelia (Kane) Shepard. She was a 1973 Graduate of Washington Catholic High School. When living in Washington she was employed at Washington Nursing Center after moving to Danville she went to work at Wal-Mart in Plainfield. She was an avid NASCAR fan and she also enjoyed her grandchildren and crocheting. Joetta is survived by one daughter, Denise (Bryan) Smither of Danville; one son, Daniel Batchelor of Washington; three grandchildren, Briana Batchelor, Gage Batchelor, and Leah Smither; two sisters, Diana Burger and Susan (Jim) Davis both of Washington; and one uncle, Thurman Gill of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in-law, Mark Burger. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial Donations may be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Society.
