 
             
            Joyce (Copple) Schuetz, 68, of Washington passed away Friday October 2, 2015 at home surrounded by her family and her spoiled rotten dog, Sammie.   Joyce was born on October 7, 1946 in Frichton, IN to the late Art and Mary (Gray) Copple.  Joyce graduated from Washington Catholic  High School in 1964 and married Jerry Schuetz in November 1964.   Joyce spent her life being a devoted wife and mother.  Joyce and Jerry were joint owners in Fairview Farms in Montgomery and Washington, after residing in Montgomery for 25 years they moved to Washington.  Joyce was a member of Bethany Christian Church and also spent many summers volunteering at Camp Illiana.  While Joyce was a devoted mother she opened her heart and home to many foster children and foreign exchange students from all over the world. Joyce is survived by her husband of 50 years Jerry Schuetz; son Jarrett Schuetz, 2 daughters, Jan (Schuetz) Stamper (Daniel Johnson) and Joy and (Marvin) Milligan-Schuetz; grandchildren Nick (Heather) Schuetz, Lane, Landon (Mercedes) Stamper and Blaze (Lynlee) Schuetz; siblings, Bill Copple, Kay Macy, Renee and Gary Hamilton and sister-in-law Judy and Mel Robinson and many loved nieces and nephews.   Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents Art and Mary (Gray) Copple; brother,  Art (Sonny) Copple and sister Ann (Copple) Strange and grandson Nathan Schuetz A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Joyce on Saturday October 17, 2015 at 2:00pm at Bethany Christian Church in Washington, IN.  Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church from 12-2:00 pm. The family would like to extend the deepest gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for their loving care they provided to Joyce.  In lieu of flowers, he family would appreciate memorial contributions be sent to Gentiva Hospice, 323 Metro Avenue, Evansville IN 47715  or Bethany Christian Church, 1139 IN-57, Washington, IN 47501.  Joyce was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.  She never met a stranger and was loved by many. Our lives are better off being a part of hers.

"Most of my time with Joyce was spent laughing, at ourselves. The time we went camping and the tent caught on fire. We all tried to get out the tent at the same time. I think we left Craig inside. Loved her family. Great friend."
