Edward Kimminau
September 1, 2020 - April 30, 2007

Edward C. Kimminau, age 88 of Washington passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday at his residence. Born August 7, 1918 in Kingman County, Kansas, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Hageman) Kimminau. He was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church, the American Legion and V.F.W., the Brute Society of the Evansville Diocese, and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. In 1966 he transferred from U.S Naval Ammunition Depot in Hastings, Nebraska to NSWE, Crane where he later retired. Surviving is one son, Alvin Kimminau of Washington; a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Bob Melton of Loogootee; one brother, Leo Kimminau of Lincoln, Nebraska; and two sisters, Mary Vrchota of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Agnes Britten of Superior, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Loskill) Kimminau, whom he married November 10, 1953 and she died December 1, 1999; one daughter, Theresa Kimminau, three brothers, William, Felix and Fred Kimminau; and one sister, Cecelia Lemke. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
