Sue Ann Doyle
July 3, 1938 - September 11, 2019

Sue Ann Doyle, 81, of Washington passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Eastgate Manor.


She was born on July 3, 1938 in Washington to Frank W. Lents and Matilda ”Tillie” (Meyer) Lents. Sue Ann was a member of Washington Catholic High School, Class of 1955. Sue Ann owned Sue Ann’s Pin & Curl Beauty Salon for 38 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic church, Hoosier Gals Homemaker, American Legion Auxiliary and charter member of the Lady’s Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus. Sue Ann and her neighbor Donna held the first yard sale in Washington in 1966. Sue Ann loved playing marbles, cards and bingo with her family and friends. She was a league bowler for many years.


She is survived by her husband Lewis Doyle whom she married on August 25, 1955; Karen (Patrick) Rayman, Randall Doyle, Washington, Loriann Steiner, Montgomery; Sister-n-laws Mary Ann Doyle, Jean (Richard) Sorensen and  brother-n-law Thomas (Dot) Doyle; 11 grandchildren Gwendolyn McGuire, Jordan Rayman, Cory Batchelor, Ryan Batchelor, Audra Millwee, Ian Doyle, Austin Doyle, Ginger Smolek, Randall Doyle Jr., Taylor Doyle and Blake Steiner and 9 great-grandchildren. Sue Ann had a lot of favorite nieces and nephews who were dear to her. She loved spending time with all of them.


She is preceded in death by her parents; son Terry Doyle; sisters Mildred (Carl) Overton, Frances (Virgil) Petty, Rosemary (Roscoe) Richard and brothers Richard Lents, Thomas (Carol) Lents and Billy (Evelyn) Lents.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30am-10:45am on Saturday at the church.
