Stuart Hill Smith Graham

Stuart Hill Smith Graham of Washington, Indiana Died August 26, 2007. Mrs Graham was born in Washington DC on October 17, 1934 to Edward James and Ann Bowie Watson Smith. Her family directly descends from Calvert, Lord Baltimore, one of the founding families of the State of Maryland. She graduated from Georgetown Visitation, Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and received her Master's Degree from Indiana University. She was named a Sagamore of the Wabash and has been awarded other accolades throughout her lifetime. Mrs Graham taught for over thirty years at Washington High School, taking one summer off to teach in the Birmingham (England) schools. She is survived by David Bolden Graham, her spouse of 51 years and her eight children: Bird (Carl) Peavy, Ellen Graham, Darnell Graham, Lamar (Tony) Smith, Lyle (Shim) Graham, Gerard Graham, Barbara (Mark) Gazda, and Beau (Carol) Graham. She is also survived by her nine beloved grandchilden. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Graham at 4:00 PM an Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery, Indiana with Reverend James Koressel as celebrant. A reception will follow mass at the Washington Elk's Club till 8:00 PM. There will be no visitation. Forms of donations should be made to Catholic Education Endownment P.O.
