Ellen Kay Walls

Ellen Kay Walls, 65, of Washington, passed away at 2:05 PM on July 30, 2019 at St. Vincent’s hospital in Evansville, Indiana.


 


Ellen was born December 28, 1953 in Washington, Indiana to Helen (Allen) Roark and Elwood Roark. She graduated from Washington High School in 1972. On August 23, 1986 she married the love of her life, Mike Walls. Ellen retired from Washington Nursing Center in 2016, after 35 years as head cook of the dietary department.


Ellen is survived by her husband, Mike Walls of Washington; daughter Brandi (Dan) Booker of Plainville; son Michael Walls Jr. of Washington; mother Helen English of Washington; 2 sister, Karen (Sonny) Miller of Washington and Cheryl Miller of Washington; Aunt Tinnie (Jerry) Boger of Washington; 4 nieces, Angie (Brian) Dyer of Plainville, IN, Heather Wirts of Washington, Jessica (Kyle) Davison of Washington and Ashley (Nick) Norris of Winslow, Indiana.


She is preceded in death by her father, Elwood Roark; stepfather, Leland English; mother and father-n-law, Pete and Ruth Walls and a nephew Sonny Miller Jr.


There will be a visitation from 4-8 PM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel in Washington IN. Burial will be at a later date.


In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center of Memorial Hospital at 800 W. 9th St. in Jasper In 47546
