"THOUGH I ONLY MET TOM A FEW TIMES IN MY LIFE I ALWAYS FELT THAT HE WAS A GOOD PERSON. HE ALWAYS TREATED ME KINDLY. MY EARLIEST MEMORY WAS WHEN I WAS VISITING AT HIS DAD'S FARM WHEN I WAS EIGHT YEARS OLD. I REMEMBER THAT I WAS STILL UP WHEN TOM RETURNED FROM A DANCE (IT MUST HAVE BEEN A FRIDAY OR SATURDAY). i REMEMBER SITTING IN HAY WITH TOM AND HIS BROTHER RAY AND PASSING AROUND A BOTTLE OF MOONSHINE. THAT WAS AMAZING TO AN 8 YR OLD CITY KID. THAT WAS NEVER A BAD THING TO ME; IT WAS AN ADVENTURE. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO STELLA AND THE FAMILY."
