Mary Aldridge, 87, Washington, died at 1:55 PM on Friday, at Select Specialty Hospital in Bloomington. She was born January 25, 1919, in Loogootee, to Leo Patrick and Mary Josephine (McAtee) McDermott. She married Delbert Aldridge in 1935 and he passed away February 5, 2006. She was a devoted mother to Tommy Aldridge and Sandra Mattingly, who are both deceased. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church . She is survived by three grandchildren; Jeff Aldridge of Washington, Tonya Gladish of Petersburg, and Christian Dowden of Washington,seven great-grandchildren; Aubrey and Amanda Aldridge, Jeremy and Jason Clark, Kyle Smith and Joey Keller; and one great-great-granddaughter, Taylor Clark. Other survivors include a brother, Glenn McDermott of Nashville, two sisters, Elizabeth Clymer of Vincennes, Catherine Bernel of Tacoma, Wash., and her brother in-law and sister in-law who were her caregivers, Mickey Aldridge and Buddy Aldridge both of Washington, She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph McDermott, and three sisters, Esther Tutts, Eva Mae Batchelor, and Regina Elizabeth Wikle. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
