Imogene B. Arthur

Imogene Arthur, 85, of Washington died at 10:30 A.M. on Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville. Born May 9, 1921, she was the daughter of James A. and Maude (Gilley) Drew. She attended Washington Schools and had worked at Armour and Senior and Family Services. She was a charter member of Central Christian Church and enjoyed sewing and watching basketball on tv. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws; James E. and Jane Arthur, Seymour, Steven and Glauda Arthur of Huntsville, Alabama, one daughter, Gloria Jean Waltz, Washington, two sisters, Henrietta Carroll, Plainville, and Freda Fleenor, Walla Walla, Washington, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband, James "Shug" Arthur, whom she married November 19, 1938, her parents, 2 grandsons, James E. Arthur, and Mark A. Pilk, and 1 brother and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. Lucia Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
