John "Jack" Steiner, age 78, of Montgomery passed away March 1, 2015 at 2:05 p.m. at Heritage Center in Evansville, Indiana. Jack was born February 10, 1937 to Michael and Mary (Fegan) Steiner. He married Mary June (Burch) Steiner on February 10, 1962 at Fort Lewis, Washington while serving in the army. John was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Montgomery. He served on the board of Directors of RTC Communications since 1973 holding the office of president for 27 years. He was co-owner of Steiner & Steiner Trucking Inc. and worked with the family business for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mary June (Burch) Steiner, sons; Stephen (Chris) Steiner of Washington and Terry (Jennifer) Steiner of Montgomery; grandchildren, Randall (April) Steiner of Shirley, Indiana, Trevor and Emma Steiner of Montgomery, and four great-grandchild and two step-great grandchildren; a brother, Dan Steiner of Loogootee; two sisters, Ann Arvin and Mary Jane Colbert both of Loogootee. Preceding him in death were one daughter, Debbie Shoultz, a son-in-law, Rick Shoultz; a twin sister Joan Steiner; a sister Dorothy Hagerty; and two brothers, Charles and James Steiner. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Peter''s Catholic Church, Montgomery with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery with full military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Daviess County Right to Life, P.O. Box 41, Washington, IN 47501.
