Alice Harrington

Alice E. Harrington, age 87, of Washington, went home to the Lord at 4:15 PM on Monday at her residence. She was born on May 10, 1924 in Washington to William and Alice (Roach) Hayes. She was retired from Shenandoah Turkey Processing Plant after 19 years of service. She was a member of ST. Simons Catholic Church now Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters and son in-law, Paula Harrington and Helen Jane and Robert Smith Jr. all of Washington; four grandchildren, Tyra (Craig) Wininger of Wichita, Kansas, Jonathan (Stephanie) Bray of Indianapolis, Tracy (Benny) Fields, and Robert Smith III all of Washington; ten great grandchildren, Tabitha Wininger of Washington, Kenneth Wininger, Olivia Wininger, Adrianna Wininger all of Wichita, Kansas, Brock Bray of Indianapolis, Kirstin Lentz, Kacrissa Lentz both of Washington, Ciara Smith, and Zack and Jena both of Wheatland; three great grandchildren , McKenzie Lentz of Washington, and Zatara Davidson and Lyrik Davidson both of Loogootee; and one brother, William Hayes of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Harrington on December 4, 1987; her parents; one infant son, Kenneth William Harrington; four sisters, Mary Jane Brothers, Rosemary Kennedy, and two infant sisters; four brothers, James Hayes, Michael Hayes, Joseph Hayes, and Robert Hayes. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
