Lorene McDaniel age 85 of Washington passed away on Monday at 7:40 pm at Daviess Community Hospital. She was born on April 19, 1923 in Greenville, Ky. to Thomas and Lena (McCrocklin) Davis. She reupholstered furniture for may people in and around Washington and was an avid sewer. Surviving are on daughter and son in-law, Jane and Guy Mattingly of Washington; two sons and daughter in-law, Bob and Jackie McDaniel of Lawrenceburg, and Tim McDaniel of Washington; six grandchildren Rodney McDaniel of New York, Marla Weis, Scott Mattingly, Lindsay McCain, Samantha Mattingly, and Leslie McDaniel all of Washington; and six great grandchildren, Danny Norton, Allyson Weis, Carmen Weis, Hannah McCain, Nolan McCain, and Marli McDaniel all of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James McDaniel on October 26, 2003, whom she had married on March 25, 1944; three sisters, Louise Davis, Barbara Davis, and Shine Johnson; and four brothers, Thomas Davis, Gardener Davis, John Davis, and Ralph Davis. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Ed Lee Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday and from Noon till the hour of services on Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.edleemortuary.com
