Maxine Brochin
July 30, 1918 - August 12, 2010

Maxine Brochin, age 92, of Washington, passed away at 5:55 AM on Thursday at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center. She was born on July 30, 1918 in Daviess County to James and Tillie (Squire) Downey. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons in-law, Linda and John Stephens of Terre Haute, and Carol June and Colin Hausman of Belleville, Illinois; one son and daughter in-law, Larry and Joyce Brochin of Washington; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brochin on October 2, 1995, whom she had married on June 23, 1937. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Susie Downey, Mildred Gress, and Ruth Gress; and four brothers, Clint Downey, Bernard Downey, Jess Downey, and George Downey. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 PM with a wake service at 3:00 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary. Momorial donations may be give to Wasghington Catholic Education Endowment P.O.
