Margaret R. Walters
December 11, 1925 - February 28, 2014

Margaret R. Walters, age 88, of Washington, passed away at 10:18 PM on Friday at Davies Community Hospital. She was born on December 11, 1926 in Petersburg to Francis E. and Ester (Barber) Williams. She graduated from Washington High School in 1944 and from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1947. She retired as a register nurse from Daviess Community Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter, Katherine (Jerry) Cummings of Indianapolis; three sons, Michael Walters of Washington, James (Glenda) Walters of Oklahoma, and Richard Walters of Texas; four sisters, Betty Willis of Evansville, Rose Ada Stanley of Washington, Carol Richardson of Bloomington, and Jill Zabel of Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph G. Walters on July 24, 1984 whom she had married on April 19, 1948; and two sons, Phillip Lee Walters and Tommy Joe Walters. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be given to the Washington Catholic Education Endowment P.O.
