Austin Leland Edwards
January 9, 1930 - September 6, 2009

Austin 'Leland' Edwards, age 79, of Alfordsville, passed away at 1:25 pm on Sunday at Jasper Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 9, 1930 in Daviess County to William and Esther (Parker) Edwards. He was a 1949 graduate of Alfordsville High School, he was a life time farmer, he had worked for Graber Implement and later for JOFCO where he retired. He was a Avid coon hunter and gardener. He was a member of Waco Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife for over 59 years, Betty (Nalker) Edwards, whom he married on December 18, 1949; two daughters and sons in-law, Helen and Tony Massie of Washington, and Rebecca Jane and Ernie Fawk of Alfordsville; two sons and daughters in-law, Paul and Mary Beth Edwards of Portersville, and Charles and Sally Edwards of Alfordsville; one sister, Lenora Stultz of Bedford; one brother, Russell Edwards of Trinity Springs; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Friedman Edwards and Robert Edwards; and one great granddaughter, Aylah Dale Fawks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Bro Monty Critchlow officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery Reeve Township. "Thanks to lealand that we had wonderful sunday eveninges in the 70s, sunday evenings consisted of delicious corn dogs at grandmas and bs and much more. Thanks to leland we had great running farm equiptment and many memories on the farm. I know this these last few years have been difficult due to illness my thoughts are with you.
