Anna Fern McAtee

Anna Fern McAtee age 98 of Evansville formerly of Washington passed away at 6:30 AM on Tuesday at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Evansville. She was born on July 31, 1908 IN Washington to the late Joseph M. and Anna (Cook) Bowers. She was a graduate of St. Simons Academy and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She married Ivan A. McAtee on September 29, 1926. Anna Fern was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family above her own. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends. We the family would like to extend sincere appreciation to all the staff of Good Samaritan Home and the former Regina Continuing Care for the excellent care provided for her. Surviving are one daughter and son in-law, Mary Elaine and Earl 'Skip' Carter of Evansville; 4 grandchildren, Kris (Harris) Ledgerwood and husband Roger of Washington, Carla (Harris) Jones of Evansville, Kristen (Carter) Folz and husband Matt of Evansville; and Erin (Carter) Moore and her husband, Kevin of Evansville; seven great grandchildren, Kevin Jones, Matt Ledgerwood and his wife Jody, Jessika Carter, Hayden Folz, Landen Folz, Cael Moore, and Caden Moore; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan A. McAtee in 1944; one son, Patrick J. McAtee in 1944; one daughter Elizabeth 'Betty' Harris in 1993; one great granddaughter, Courtney Jones; two brothers, Jerome 'Roman' Bowers and Joseph Bowers; and two sisters, Helen (Bowers) Stevens and Mary Bowers A Mass of Christian burial well be celebrated an Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 8:30 AM till 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church.
