John Bradley, age 95, passed away Friday, September 12 at 1:00 pm at the Emerald House. He was born on September 23, 1918 in Loogootee, Indiana to Leatha (Queen) and Leo Bradley . John retired from Crane and was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. He belonged to St. Peter Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 121 and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He had received the Brute Award from the Diocese of Evansville and the Laetare Award . In 2014 he received an award for 35 years of service on the Fourth Degree Catholic Calendar. He enjoyed gardening, his faith and spending time with his family. Survived by his wife Margaret, Zinkan Bradley whom he married October 1, 1946 and had been married for almost 68 years; daughter, Elaine (Barry) Phemister of Indianapolis; grandchildren; Belinda (Mike) Loureiro of Westfield and Amy Phemister of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren Haley Loureiro, AJ Loureiro, Elizabeth Loureiro all of Westfield; brother, Ernest Bradley of Loogootee; sisters, Mary Jane Ryan, Montgomery, Stacia Padget of Bramble, Ruth James of Washington, and Irene Zins of Loogootee, and Clara Bradley of Loogootee. Preceding John in death were his parents, three sisters; Louise Ward, Agnes Hauser, and Inez Bradley. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 815 E. Main Street, Washington, IN 47501, St. Peter''s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 10, Montgomery, IN 47501 or the American Heart Association. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father James Koressel on Saturday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery with Military Rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm at St. Peter''s Catholic Church.
