Lester L. Bradfield
March 11, 1920 - September 4, 2008

Lester L. "Red" Bradfield, age 88, of Washington passed away at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at his residence. Born March 11, 1920 in Pike County, he was the son of Charles and Grace (Ennis) Bradfield. He was a 1940 graduate of Petersburg High School and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He was retired from Uniroyal. He is survived by his wife, Agnes (Casper) Bradfield, whom he married April 22, 1950; one son, Jerry W. Bradfield of Washington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn K. and James Dyer and Jane and Mark Sturgeon all of Washington; seven grandchildren, Angela Mattingly, Bill Dyer, Erica Fox, Melinda Burgess, Michael Bradfield, Mark A. Sturgeon II, and Alyssa M Gilley; and eight great grandchildren. Preceding him in death is his parents and two brothers, Robert Bradfield and Lyndall Bradfield. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.
