Ruth Burris age 83 of Washington passed away Tuesday morning August 11, 2020 at New Albany Rehabilitation facility in New Albany, Indiana.
Ruth was born September 24, 1935 in Martin County to Oather and Edith (Jones) Wagner. Ruth loved camping (mostly in Bunita Springs, FL), her grandkids and great-granddaughter, gardening, the Grand Ole Opry and Johnny Cash. Ruth was a member of New Hope Christian Church and participated in The Journey to Bethlehem and the White River Valley Antique Association. Ruth will be greatly missed by her friends and family and will be remembered by her infectious laugh and loving soul.
Surviving are two children Craig and Andrea Burris of Washington and Deann Burris of Fort Lauderdale; three grandchildren Veronica Burris (Kent Delaney), Valerie Burris and VeJay L. Burris; three step-grandchildren Robert T. Miles, Ciera Miles and Chelsea K. Miles; great-granddaughter Braylie Grannan and step great-grandchild Magnolia J. Miles.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell Burris; brother Donald Wagner and two sisters Helen Hopkins and Dorothy Wagner.
A private service will be held. Burial will follow at Alfordsville Cemetery.
