Ralph D. Worland
February 2, 1926 - February 2, 2007

Ralph D. Worland, 81, Washington passed away on Friday at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. Born June 21, 1925 in Daviess County he was the son of the late Clarence D. and Matilda (Gates) Worland. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the K of C. An Army veteran of WWII,he was a recipient E.A.M.E. Theater Ribbon with 5 Bronze Stars,received Victory Medal WWII Distinguished Unit Badge, and served with the 2nd Armored Division Company C 67 Armored Regiment as an Armored Tank Commander with the "Hell on Wheels" Division. He was a retired electrician after 37 years with IBEW Local #16. He is survived by his wife; Agnes R. (Healy) Worland, whom he married June 21, 1947, seven sons and daughters-in-law; Daniel J. Worland, Evansville, William C. and Barb Worland, Brownsburg, Michael J. and Bonnie Worland, Huntingburg, Steven P. and Donna Worland, Mark A. and Pam Worland, and David G. and Madonna Worland all of Washington, and Philip J. and Jeri Worland of Brownsburg, a sister; Rosemary(Robert) Carrico, Washington, 19 grandchildren; Megan Worland, Collin Worland, Cory Worland, Nathan Worland, Scott Worland, Derek Worland, Anthony Worland, Matt Worland Mitch Worland, Emily Worland, Shawn Worland, Stacy Worland, Ben Worland, Nick Worland, Cody Worland, Dustin Worland, Libby Worland, Tori Turner, and Chris Worland, 5 great-grandchildren; Victoria Worland, Dana Worland, Cameron Worland, Hayley Worland, and Ryan Worland, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was two sisters; Anna(Paul) Steiner and Alma(Chester) Ray. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church with a wake service at 4 p.m. and K of C rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial donations maybe made to Alzheimer's Association.
