Ruth A. Parsons
February 24, 1931 - April 11, 2006

Ruth A. Parsons age 75 of Montgomery passed away on Tuesday at 6:40 PM at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born to February 24,1931 in Loogootee to the late Matthew J. and Zollah (Mattingly) Butcher.She married James C. Parsons on May 7,1949 and he preceded her in death on January 21,1999 She attended St. John High School in Loogootee. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and St Peter Legion of Mary. She had retired from NSWC Crane after many years of service. After retirement she was a volunteer for RSVP and Life Line. She loved cooking and bowling having received many bowling awards. Surviving is two daughters: Linda Parsons of Loogootee and Sharon Parsons of Memphis. Mo. four sons and daughters in-law; Donald Ray and Barbara Parsons of Odon, David L. and Laura Parsons of Montgomery, James and Melinda Parsons Jr. of Omega, Ga., John 'Chip' Parsons and his girlfriend, Debbie Hughes of Clinton Township, Michigan. Also surviving is 9 Grandchildren; Eric Parsons, Derek Parsons, Brittany Parsons, Cody Parsons, Jeff Parsons, Nicholas Parsons, Shad Mattingly, Bryan Mattingly, and Courtney Jones, 5 great grandchildren, and three sisters; Mary Riggins and Harriet Byrer both of Raglesville, and Sara Jane Holtz of Tipton. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband , 4 brothers; Frank, Robert, Thomas, and Donald 'Butch' Butcher, and 2 sisters; Virginia Rose Byrer, and Betty Butcher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery at Montgomery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 7:00 pm. Memorial donations my be made to Barr-Reeve Scholarship Fund.
