Catherine O. Michaels
March 10, 1920 - August 27, 2009

Catherine O. 'Katie" Michaels age 87 of Washington passed away at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center. She was born March 10, 1920 in the St. Michaels community near Montgomery, to Ottis and Anastasia (Kidwell) O'Brian. She graduated from Epson High School in to 1938. She retired after many years of service at Citizens Bank and Trust and then went on to volunteer at the gift shop at Daviess Community Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by two brothers Michael A. O'Brian of Newark, Delaware and Patrick E. O'Brian of Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew 'Mack' Michaels, whom she married February 15, 1947, on January 15, 2007. Her parents, and one sister, Margaret F. O'Brian are also deceased. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery in Montgomery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a D of I rosary at 5 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Washington Catholic Education Endowment, P.O.
