Mary E. Mischler

Mary E. Mischler, 84, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Daviess Community Hospital after a brief illness. Born August 18, 1922 in Washington she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Mangin) Weiland. As the wife of an Army officer she lived with her family in various states relative to her husband's assignments. She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Perry Fiscus of Indianapolis; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Karen Mischler of Mishawaka, Walter and Marilyn Mischler of Huntington Beach, California, and Geoff and Christine Mischler of Washington; a brother, Mathias Weiland of Crescent City, California; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Mischler, whom she married July 4, 1942, and he died August 12, 1994. Her sister, Mildred Copeland, and two brothers, Joseph and Harry Weiland are deceased. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 8:45a.m.to 9:45 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Catholic Endowment fund.
