Edwin C. Robinson
May 17, 1927 - February 5, 2018

Edwin C. Robinson, age 90, passed peacefully on February 5, 2018 at home. He was born on May 17, 1927 to Hamlet and Naomi (Wallace) Robinson.


Edwin graduated from Glendale High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic aboard the Army Hospital Ship Mercy. He crossed the ocean three times to pick up wounded soldiers in Japan to bring them home. He married Doris June (Colvin) on January 9, 1955 and was a farmer for approximately 32 years and served as Daviess County Surveyor for 12 years.


Edwin is survived by his wife, Doris, of Washington; daughter, Phyllis Richardson of Washington; son-in-law, Mark; grandson, Wes Richardson of Washington; nieces, nephews and cousins.


He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herschel Robinson and Robert Robinson; sister, Mary Ellen Fithian; infant sister, Betty Jean Robinson; infant daughter, Barbara Jean Robinson.


In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and always enjoyed antique auctions. He had been a member of the Cast Iron Seat Collectors Club, White River Valley Antique Association, and Washington’s Wesley United Methodist Church.


Funeral services will be at Wesley United Methodist Church in Washington, on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rex Thomas officiating. Burial will be at East Union Cemetery with Military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary, and from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Wesley United Methodist Church.
