Virgene Clinkenbeard

Virgene Clinkenbeard, age 75 of Washington, passed away at The Legends Village. She was born on July 3, 1935 in Washington to Henry and Addie (Abel) Waltz. She was a 1953 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, graduated from Indiana Business College and Attended Vincennes University. She was retired from McCord Corporation. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Daviess Community Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by one sister, Margaret Morrison of Washington, one brother Paul Waltz of Washington, one step daughter, Jan Mason of Washington, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Clinkenbeard on September 11, 1994, whom she had married on December 29, 1961. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Waltz, and one sister, Patricia Funk. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 PM and a D of I rosary at 4:30 PM . Condolences may be sent online at www.edleemortuary.com
