Walter Kaiser
February 13, 1950 - January 30, 2008

Walter "Wally" Kaiser, 57 of Washington passed away at 6:49 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville. Born February 13, 1950, he was the son of William and Margaret (Miles) Kaiser. He was a 1968 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, a 1970 graduate of Vincennes University, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and a member of the Washington Knights of Columbus where he was a Grand Knight. He was an Automotive Service of Excellence Certified Mechanic and owner/operator of Washington Alignment. He loved fishing, hunting, and Nascar. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Walker) Kaiser, whom he married March 4, 2000; two sons, Joe Kaiser and Scott Kaiser both of Vincennes; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Keith Thomas of Vincennes; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann and Jeff Byrne of Newburgh; two step-sons and a step-daughter-in-law, Mark Long of Washington and Duane and Juanita Long of Lewisville, TX; one step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Kelli and Rusty Shelden of Vincennes; four grandchildren, Brayten, Chase, and Gretchen Kaiser, and Alyssa Thomas; three step-grandchildren, Paige and Blaine Hill, and Duane Edward Long II; one nephew, Jason Byrne; three half sisters; and four half brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 p.m. and a K of C rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Community of Washington.
