Olive L. Hardisty
December 24, 1910 - October 2, 2010

Olive L. Hardisty, age 99, of Washington, passed away at 1:45 PM at her residence. She was born on December 24, 1910 in Wheatland to William Andrew and Loretta Mae (Fox) Davisson. She was the oldest member of Ebenezer General Baptist Church and was an 83 year member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She was a Assistant Cook at Longfellow School and West End School for several years. She is survived by three Daughters and a son in-law, Doris M. and Arthur Hudson, Janice Lee Hardisty and Janet Lynn Hardisty all of Washington; eight grandchildren, Doris M. Massey of Nashville, Tennessee, Arthur K. Hudson of Washington, and William K. Hardisty David A. Hardisty, Timothy L. Hardisty, Robert Andrew Hardisty, Diana L. Tucker, and Tamatha M. Cristello all of Floridia; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and one special friend Delores Purdy of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Hardisty on June 16, 1958, whom she had married on August 29. 1929. She was also preceded in death by one son William Kenneth Hardisty; one daughter, Anita June Hardisty; one granddaughter, Angela Marie Hardisty; one brother, Orlando Davisson; and a niece and a nephew, Shirley Evans and Lawrence E. Davisson whom she help raise. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. James Downs officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
