Gale Butcher Washington

Gale E. Butcher age 69 of Washington passed away at 7:05 p.m. Sunday at her residence. She was born July 17, 1939 in Wayne County, Michigan to George 'Jake' and Dorothy (Gohl) Williams. She was a 1957 graduate of Montgomery High School and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She is survived by two daughters and son in-law, Karen and Bryan Bullock of Cannelburg, and Susan Butcher of Washington; three sons and daughter in-law, John and Judy Butcher of Loogootee Mark W. Butcher and Steven Randall Butcher both of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren Sabrina (Jordan) Stoll, Krystal (Nick) Baker, Heather Butcher, Jeremy Butcher, Justine Butcher, Dustin Butcher, Josh Butcher, Danielle Bullock, Devan Bullock, Randee Butcher, Jordan Butcher, and Marcus Butcher; three great-grandchildren, Amya Stoll, Wyatt Butcher, and Jayden Butcher; two brothers, George (Mary) Williams of Morgantown and Kenny Williams of California; two sisters, Judy Rideout and Mary (Jerry) Greenwell all of Evansville, and several nieces and nephews. . She was preceded in death by Donald E. Butcher on August 3, 2004; her son Matthew E. Butcher on May 13, 1999; her parents; two sisters, Margaret Lents and Dorothy Taylor; one brother, Thomas A. Williams; and a nephew, Douglas Williams. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery in Montgomery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or any Relay for Life event. "Family ~ Sorry about your loss. When I saw Gale's obituary. My mind flooded with memories when the Williams family lived next to us. How the time quiclky passes by. I also babysit for all of Gale's kids. Now here I am working next to one. Again your family will be in my heart. I will not be able to attend due to my childrens grandmother Mary Edith(Matthewson) Walker is also being waked this evening."
