Monica E. Clark
January 24, 1915 - January 18, 2008

Monica E. Clark age 92 of Washington passed away at 12:20 a.m. Friday at Hillside Manor Nursing Home. Born January 24, 1915 in Loogootee, she was the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Spaulding) Patterson. She attended St. John High School, was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister, volunteered at Washington Catholic Grade School, a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and was the American Red Cross Volunteer of the Year for 2000-2001. She was a homemaker and an avid card player. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Larry F. and Mary Lou Clark of Forsyth, IL, Mike and Janet Clark of Barrington, NH, and Tony and Mary Clark of Perrysburg, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Raymond Brothers of Washington and Sue and Richard O'Connor of Carmel; a brother-in-law, Edward "Coon" Yaggi; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Judy Erwin of Loogootee. Preceding her in death is her husband, Fred Clark, whom she married February 17, 1941 and he died July 9, 1996 and a daughter, Kay Stiles who died April 6, 1985. One brother, Carl Patterson and a sister, Eleanor Yaggi are also deceased. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington Catholic Education Endowment.
