Amy Doyle, age 90 of Vincennes went peacefully home to be with the Lord at the home of her daughter in Washington Sunday morning at 5:39 a.m. Born September 19, 1919 in Daviess County she was the daughter of Thomas and Honora (Wilson) Murphy. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vincennes. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Bill Clark of Evansville, Erma and Mike Mischler of Washington, and Alma and John Davis of Niceville, Fl.; a daughter-in-law, Jean Doyle of Vincennes; seven grandchildren, Matthew Mischler of Sullivan, Amy Mischler of Evansville, Ryan Davis of Arlington, Va, Craig Davis of Durham, NC, Kelly Davis of Richmond, Va. Brian Doyle of Indianapolis, and Scott Doyle of Chicago, Ill; two great-grandchildren, Parker Mischler and Carter Mischler both of Sullivan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer J. Doyle, whom she married May 6, 1944, on November 16, 1956. One daughter, Rita Kay Doyle (November 16, 1956), a son, Kevin J. Doyle (November 21, 2008), a brother Leonard Murphy, and two sisters, Donna Murphy and Bernadette Doyle are also deceased. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Jim Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
