Joseph Richard Harner , age 80, of Indianapolis formerly of Washington passed away on Friday at Community Hospital North Campus in Indianapolis. He was born on October 14, 1932 in Glendale to Delbert Joseph and Gladys Irene (Belcher) Harner. He Attended Washington High School. He is survived by his wife Janice (Burris) Harner whom he married September 20, 1952 ; one daughter, Deborah Ann (Gary) Cardwell of Kentucky; one son, Stephen Joseph (Donna) Harner, of Vincennes; five grandchildren; thirteen grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Alan Wayne Harner; his parents, two sisters, Ruth Allen and Carol O'Brien. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10:00AM at Ed Lee Mortuary. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM on Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Condolences may be sent online at www.edleemortuary.com

""Bro" as we called him will be sadly missed by many friends and acquaintances. My husband and I enjoyed spending many weekends camping with him and his sister Carol. I also worked with him for may years at the nursing home and we had a lot of great laughs! He was a very kind and caring person and took great pride in anything he did.
