John W. McBride
April 2, 1930 - May 10, 2011

John W. McBride, age 81, of Washington passed away at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence. Born April 2, 1930 in Washington he was the son of John E. and Bessie (Merry) McBride. He was a graduate of Washington High School and retired from the Wheatland Post Office. Surviving is his wife, Marilyn Sue (Jenne) McBride, whom he married January 2, 1991; four sons, William McBride of Washington, Ronald McBride of New Town, David McBride of New Smyrna Beach, Fl, and Lane McBride of Scottsburg; two daughters, Virginia Emmons of Port St. Lucie, Fl, and Jan McBride of Washington; a sister, Joyce Buckley of Washington; three step-sons, Darrell Waltz of Jasper, Robert Waltz of Washington, and William Waltz of Bordon; a step-daughter, Cheryl Walker of Evansville; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lillian Padgett, Isabelle George, and Eleanor Wininger. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Brent Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent to www.edleemortuary.com.
