Garnett Williams
October 20, 1912 - October 20, 2007

Garnett Williams, 95 of Washington passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday at the Washington Nursing Center. Born April 19, 1912 in Burns City she was the daughter of the late Homer and Nell (Garret) Sargent. She attended Martin County Schools, had worked in the Loogootee Shirt factory, and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she belonged to the quilting club. She is survived by a son Glen V. Williams of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Sue G. Kohlman of Washington; five grandchildren Billie Sue Nowling of Petersburg, Mike Nowling of Plainville, Kim Armes of Glendale, Connie Sue Soules of Seattle, WA, and Tod Williams of Anchorage, Alaska; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one siter, Treva Duckworth. Preceding her in death is her husband, G. Kermit Williams, whom she married April 29, 1929, and he died October 14, 1981. Four brothers, Garrett, Ivan, Glen, and Homer, Jr., Sargent; and two sisters, Leva Mitchell, and Hazel Rush; and two grandsons, Mark Nowling and Tracy Williams are also deceased. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Brother Matt Merold, and Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
