Marilyn Kay Seidel, age 77 of Washington, passed away on Wednesday at 12:23 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
She was born on April 27, 1941 in Vincennes to the late Harold and Mary (Wilson) Tolliver. She attended Washington Community Schools. While attending Washington High School, she was a member of the band, playing the saxophone. Marilyn loved the outdoors, always tending to her beautiful flowers and taking walks in the park. She cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Through the years she worked at Troy’s Restaurant, Perdue Processing, Tokheim and Four Rivers Ride Solutions. She was currently employed at Wal-Mart. Marilyn was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
Marilyn married Jerome B. “Jerry” Seidel, Sr. on August 10, 1962, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jane Seidel of Washington, Jerome B. Jr. and Lorna Seidel of California and Patrick Seidel of Washington; two daughters, Sonya Morley of Fort Wayne and Angela Ashby of Washington; 14 grandchildren, Robert (Hallie) Davis of Jasper, Sarah Morley of Florida, Amy Goble of Fort Wayne, Amy Seidel of Newburg, Julie Seidel of California, Michael Seidel of Washington, Dylan Seidel of Washington, Jarrett Seidel of Evansville, Tyler Seidel of Washington, Katie Seidel of Haubstadt, Madison Seidel of Indianapolis, Brayton Ashby of Washington, Hannah Ashby of Washington, and Kyle Ashby of Washington; and 5 great grandchildren, Faith and Rachel Cassleman, Cole and Lucas Leeka all of Fort Wayne, and Lynix Seidel of Washington; sister, Carol Flater of Bloomington and brother, Dean Tolliver of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Aaron Morley and one sister, Joyce Harker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and 9:00 – 9:45 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
