Phyllis J. (Baumert) Brothers, 80, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital, Saturday morning, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Washington on March 10, 1937 to Robert F. and Camilla I. (Sturgeon) Baumert. She had worked for many years at the Washington Utility office and retired in 2002. Phyllis was an avid reader and she loved crossword puzzles and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Brothers, whom she married, June 26, 2005; brothers, Robert “Bob” (Ruth Ann) Baumert, Charles “Tom” (Beth) Baumert, Barry (Cathy) Baumert, William “Bill” Baumert and Danny Baumert, all of Washington, Richard “Dick” (Shirley) Baumert of Vincennes; sister, Ruth Ann (Jim) Wade of Bloomington. She is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary.
