In loving memory of

Jean Louise Polivka
June 24, 1963 - August 30, 2020

Jean Louise Polivka, age 57 of Kyle, Texas passed away on August 30, 2020. She left this world on her Mother's birthday and in the same month/hospital as her Father. She was born on June 24, 1963 in Austin, Texas to Ellen Clayrene Reed and Robert James Polivka. She grew up in Austin and Round Rock, graduating from Round Rock High School in 1981.

Sprinkles are for winners.

Jean obtained a degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin; but followed her father into law enforcement, working for the Travis County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer for 10 years. In 1996, she completed training for certification in semi-conductor manufacturing and was employed by Motorola/Freescale/NXP Semiconductors until the time of her passing.

Need the home court advantage.

All who knew Jean were impressed by her quick wit, with many a "Life Lesson" passed on from her collection of quotes, tips and anecdotes. She was a collector of kitchen gadgets...anything with a plug on it, the latest and greatest "Instapot", Vitamix, coffeemaker, or other accessory to create culinary delights. She was an avid cyclist, enjoying the trails and byways of Austin and Hays County. She was also a fantastic listener and accepted everyone equally. Her loud infectious laughter could brighten anyone's day. Hey Jean, don't look now but...(cue Jean sharply turning her head at the wrong moment). Most of all, Jacob would like everyone to know she was a GREAT Mom.

Not my first rodeo.

Surviving Jean to treasure her memory are her son Jacob H. Mullins (her world revolved around 'The Boy'), very best friend Sandra Mullins (who was at Jean's side until the very end), Sister Deneen Reed, brother Craig Polivka, her beloved dog Marley and a very close network of friends and colleagues from a life well lived.

What up, my peeps?

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

"Jean was a wonderful person and yes, LOVED Jacob! I met Jean many years ago at a friend\'s birthday party. Everytime I would see Jean it was like old home week. Most recently, Jean would stop and visit regularly while on her bike rides around Plum Creek. Most of our conversations were about Jacob? RIP Jean...YOU are missed!!!"

"I love you my friend, until I see you again. Those were my last words to you. You replied I love you too. When our eyes met, I think we both knew it would be the last time. I got lost on my way home. How many times had I driven that road? I was lost and still am, looking for you. I had to pull over and use google maps. Your Boy had a birthday. He is a good young man. You did good. So much of you in him. You fought so hard and had so much pain. Rest easy now. Say hi to the Shinkicker. I still love Eugene. (Your inside joke) Remember our deal? You promised to save me a spot and hold the door open when I get there."

"I have known many people in my life, but none more real. We shared some fun stories, had some great laughs, and even managed to get some work done together. I hate goodbyes, so I will just say see ya\' later."

"For those of us who are Jean\'s friends, we had a glimpse of time to enjoy everything about Jean; for the family, you had a lifetime to cherish. I think I may have bumped into Jean once in 39 years since graduation and its like we never missed a day when we met once again. One of her best qualities I\'ll always remember is that she could make friends with anyone. There was no such thing as a selective filter with her. Whatever walk of life you walked, hers crossed somewhere and friends were made. Jean, I know battling cancer is not easy and void of pain, but no longer. Until our paths cross again, I will always remember you, and your unforgettable kindness. Rest easy and peacefully. Matt Reinke"
