In loving memory of

Refugio Castillo "R.G." Guajardo, Sr.
September 18, 1942 - August 28, 2020

Refugio Guajardo, our beloved Father passed away on August 28, 2020 in Kyle, Texas at the age of 77. His family and friends knew him as R.G. or Cuco.

Refugio was an only child born On September 18, 1942. To Chon and Antonia Guajardo. He lost his mother at an early age and was raised by his Father. He worked at the university of Texas swimming center as a supervisor. After his retirement he went to work for Hays CISD Transportation Department for his second retirement as the mail carrier for the Hays CISD Pony Express Mail.

He loved watching the Texas Longhorns and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. Before getting cancer and falling ill he enjoyed mechanic work as a hobby, and truly enjoyed playing his accordion out on the porch patio to entertain his family. His most joyful time was being able to go sight-seeing and riding around with his wife. He loved going to Lockhart for some good barbecue and enjoyed the ride going through the back roads as it reminded him of his younger days when his Dad would take him. He had an act for jokes, a kind spirit, will truly be missed by those who knew him and loved him.

He fought a good fight, he finished his race, and kept his faith through his illness. He is survived by his wife, Delia Guajardo and children Refugio Guajardo jr, Cynthia Tenorio (Bobby), Daniel Guajardo (Rita), Rachel Castillo (Hector), Norma Gutierrez (Rudy). Cuco is also survived by grandchildren Vanessa Gutierrez (Miguel Mendoza), Zachary Gutierrez, Aubrey Gutierrez, Denyella Guajardo, Danny Guajardo and Jasmine Castillo; plus, Great Grandson: Jayden Mendoza

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to our family. Memorial donations may be made in Refugio's name to the American Cancer Society.
