Jill Elaine Christiansen
October 27, 1942 - June 11, 2020

Jill Elaine Eloge Christiansen, 77, passed away June 11, 2020, in Gretna, Nebraska. She was born on October 27, 1942, to Lester and Ruth (Bird) Eloge. She grew up in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1961. After high school, she attended The Methodist Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing in St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating in August of 1964. In October of 1964, she was united in marriage to Arnold J. Christiansen, and together they raised three children, Christopher, Nikole, and Matthew.

Jill was a loving, adoring mother and she cared dearly for her family, her children, and grandchildren. She loved her home, sharing ice cream with her grandchildren, crocheting, gardening, and landscaping. Jill was a woman of great faith and she enjoyed being a part of her ministry. She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She enjoyed a long successful career as a Registered Nurse and was among the best in her profession. Jill worked in several areas of health care including clinical instruction for student nurses, surgery, emergency, hospital floor nurse, charge nurse, hospice nurse, geriatrics, and Director of Nursing. Jill was a well-respected, compassionate nurse and was admired by her colleagues, coworkers, staff, her students, and her patients. In 2005, she retired from her role as Director of Nursing from Duffs Friendship Villa in Nebraska City, Nebraska after many years of employment.

Jill was preceded in death by her father, Lester Eloge, her mother, Ruth (Bird) Eloge Eslava, her stepfather, Lowell Eslava, and her sister Judy (Eloge) Marion. She is survived by her sisters Jacqueline (Eloge) Tanner, Jayne (Eloge) Swearengin, Julie (Eloge) West and husband Mark West, and her brother, Rick Eloge.

Jill is also survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Arnold J. Christiansen; her son Chris Christiansen and daughter-in-law Debra (Ferrin) Christiansen, grandsons Brandon Christiansen, Derrick Georges, and Lance Christiansen, granddaughters Natalie Christiansen and Halle Christiansen; her daughter Nikole (Christiansen) Benedict, and son-in-law James Benedict, grandsons Ethan Benedict and Dustin Benedict, granddaughter Haley Benedict and Haleys fiance Nick Rockwell, granddaughter Delainey Benedict; her son Matthew Christiansen and daughter-in-law Kelli (Steedly) Christiansen, grandsons Tristan Kriefels, Bowen Christiansen and Colston Christiansen. Jill is loved and adored by her family and all that knew her. She will always be loved and she will forever be missed.

Memorial service will be held Friday, June 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom.

"So very sorry to read of her passing. Jill was a kind and gentle soul. She hired me in the late 1990's to work part time weekends for her at Duff's. We were newly moved back to Nebraska, and had a bunch of little ones at home. Jill was a wonderful Director of Nursing!"

"When we would play UNO she would use up her bad cards so I could win. She would call me a dirty dog and tickle me til I couldnt breathe. She would also be eating vanilla ice cream while playing UNO"

"I will always remember the trips we took. To Arizona ,Tennessee and Mississippi.The fun we had playing cards, even though we always lost to Jackie(she cheated) and Kim. The rides and the talks. Jill loved all people especially her Grandkids. We once shopped at the Central Park Zoo gift shop in New York City for gifts for Brandon and Taylor.I will never stop missing her. She wasnt just my sister, she was my best friend."
