"Rich was a year behind me at Holy Name Grade School but also attended Kirkwood Seminary in the late 50's out of eighth grade as I did. However, after we both left the minor seminary we lost touch with each other. Also, my Sister,Julie, was a classmate of Rich's Brother, Bill. I often read about all of the good that Rich did for the poor at The Stephens Center and many others places and admired him greatly. His reward will surely be great indeed."

"How sad we were to hear of Rich's death. We knew Rich in Naperville, IL when we were involved in different ministries at St. Raphael's. Our memories of Rich are of great love, care and laughter. Rich introduced our oldest daughter to her future husband who have been married over 25 years. He knew how to get you involved in his ministry for the homeless without asking. We shared many thoughts and prayers together and he will be dearly missed. Our love and prayers go out to his family and friends.Rich was the closest example of St. Francis we have ever met. The homeless and poor of Omaha have lost a great warrior."

"Rich & I go way back to Holy Name High School. I graduated in 1959. We would play golf with his dad(iron man-he couldn't hit his woods) ,sometime with his brother Bill,at Fontenelle Golf Course. Back then Rich his brother & I would play in golf tournaments around Nebraska. We were not the player like Bill was. I just talked to him a couple of months ago after I read of Bills passing. We were going out to lunch at the end of the month. We never got together. I was somewhat aware of his health problems, but was not aware they were so serious. He was a good friend even though we lost touch for quite a few years. I can still remember visiting your home with Rich back in our High School days. We came into your living room and saw one of his sisters making out with her boyfriend on the sofa. Don't worry. I don't remember who it was! I'me sure God welcomed Rich in heaven with open arms because he did Gods work with the poor. Hope to see him there someday. Wayne"
