Felix Savala Sr, 71, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. Felix was born September 1, 1948 to Tomas and Mary Savala in Austin, Texas, the youngest of seven children.
Felix was no stranger to physical work and started at an early age. As a young child, he looked for employment by offering to clean local stores. At the age of 16, he met and married the love of his life, Cecilia Patina. Of this union there were eight children. Together, Felix and Cecilia embarked on a journey in the roofing profession. The roofing profession is not just for anyone. However, they easily stepped into this role unafraid of heights and ready to embrace all kinds of working conditions - from scorching heat, to wind, to rain spending most of their time on the rooftops. His hands proved that of a hard working man! Felix stepped away for a short period to become a cook. While he enjoyed the time in the kitchen and became older, he rejoined his wife in janitorial service work.
Felix was a strong, hardworking, stubborn, funny, grumpy, loving Dad, husband, Popo, Uncle and more. He was hard of hearing and always thought people were trying to "get after him" because they had to yell so loud! If you showed up empty-handed you could expect to be called a "freeze bees" (freebies)! One of his favorite choices of words was "dumbass" and a few of you (especially his nephews) have that memory lol. He loved to joke with his oldest son, Dodie, who constantly asked him if he wanted a Doctor's second opinion, to which Felix would reply "crybaby, crybaby, crybaby!" He was a hustler just like his father and could make something out of nothing. He was an awesome man who left us with great memories to last for years to come. Although, he was the pillar of strength, his family was his softer side. He was definitely a jokester and looked forward to the BINGO outings with his wife and kids.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cecilia Savala and their children; Jeana (Rick), Felix Jr (Susan), Monica, Carlos, Henry, Amy (Joseph), April and Priscilla whom he considered a daughter. Twenty-five grandchildren, Twenty-six great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and countless extended family.
Felix was united in death by his son, John Eric, grandson Nico Bazan, parents; Tomas and Mary Savala, in-laws; Margarito and Consuelo Patina and many other loving family members.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Heart to Heart hospice for everything they did during this difficult time. Together, the siblings would like to express their love and gratitude to their sister, April, for all the care and support of their father. He will be missed dearly.

"My condolences to the family my heart goes out to y\'all. I will be with you in spirit due to the circumstances. Keep in mind that I love you all very much. Felix thank you for being a part of my life. It sounds awkward calling you brother-in-law when you were more like a brother to me. One of the things I admire most it\'s your straightforwardness being Macho mean in the outside, but in the inside you had a soft heart. You were a good man to the family and a good husband to my sister. I\'m holding onto the great memories sad one\'s & funny one\'s. For example one day I walked in and you said: here comes the \"holy roller\" I can laugh about it now! Bet your holy rolling! lol! until we meet again I love you brother. I can imagine it\'s beyond beautiful up there. Say to my loved one\'s"
